JLUS IMPLEMENTATION
Implementation of the 2018 Grissom ARB Joint Land Use Study’s recommendations is currently underway. The first phase of JLUS Implementation was completed in February 2021. The materials associated with that effort are under the Resources tab and additional information can be provided through the MCPC Chair. Contact information for the Chair can be found under the Contact tab above.
Phase 1 implementation included preparation of the following deliverables from the White & Smith consulting team:
- Operational Areas Action Plan, for long-term protection of the Clear Zones and other operational areas relied upon by the base.
- Zoning Overlay districts, to ensure Air Force compatibility guidance is incorporated into local zoning and subdivision codes.
- Public Outreach materials, to ensure widespread awareness in the civilian and real estate communities regarding how base and community properties rely upon one another to maintain compatibility and to avoid one from encroaching on the other.
- Military Coordination & Planning Agreement, to guide interagency coordination regarding land use compatibility and operations at Grissom ARB and to establish the Military Coordination and Planning Committee.
- The development of this Military Coordination & Planning Committee website.
Materials are available under the Resources tab.
